grim green

In my primary and secondary school days, the green pen is synonymous with corrections. Did you guys have a special correction pen too?
I didn't like green for a really long time.

two in one! go!

Have you ever stepped into Ion Orchard and thought "there's that smell again; I wonder if it's that makeup store over there causing it"?

It isn't.

Turns out Ion's entire experiential concept revolves around not only sight, sound, bright lights and shiny metal; they also incorporated a specially-designed scent to enhance the entire shopping experience.

A couple of links:
The press release from the scent guys
The Scent Blog post (scent blog? really?)

It does work, you realise; every time you smell something vaguely familiar, you think "oh! it smells like Ion Orchard!" and they've successfully implanted their name into your head via that.

And here is a link on the 10 Principles of UX (User Experience). It's not about the entire performative and participatory thing we had going on so far, but designed experiences are far more than that. :D

Quoted from http://art-milk.com/mark-creegan/#more-24405:
"Floridian artist Mark Creegan’s used watercolor pans have created a beautiful sculpture. Proof that beauty is in the process, indeed!"

A Stranger's Birthday

Just thought it will be interesting to share with you guys a project done by a friend during her exchange.
Pei Zhi found a group of strangers to celebrate her birthday in the premise of Stuggart, Germany.
It is very much relevant to the context of designing an experience for strangers to come together for an activity.

Read her process blog for more information.

Holi!

Holi!

The Festival of Colours is celebrated by Hindus to welcome Spring and its a celebration of the triumph of good over evil. What that translates to in action is an enthusiastic dropping of inhibitions, as people chase each other and playfully splash colorful paint, powder and water on each other.

How fun!!!!! Well, since we're going into the theme of colours and experiences, I thought this was quite inspirational to look at. Imagine if we did something like that, how fun would that be! Whee, happy just looking at these images.
